Does your Child do this?

My name is Libby and I am a stay at home mom of a two year old. Her name is Cadence and she is lovely. Even though she is two years old I still feel like haven't slept in two years. I am convinced that I have been sleep walking through the past two years of my life.

Talking: She is just starting to talk and its really funny. Anytime I do anything she says"WHY you doing that!" And I respond by saying, "because I am a grown up and you still poop your pants!" I love that everyday she reminds me how simple life can be. She has her own language, I am convinced she really can speak chinese, spanish and surfer dude. Her favorite thing to do is embarrass me in the lady's room. When I bring her in the stall with me as soon as I sit down she says "Eww momma stinky, oh my gosh!" I literally haven't done anythng and she says this. As the bathroom errupts with laughter I look at her and say "I love you sweety." What can you do...? Does your child do this?

Potty Training: Now I find with potty training it's best to just act like it's no big deal at first. I mean I am still learning, she only goes on the toilet about 50% of the time. The other 50% is usually in her room. She hides in a corner and takes care of business then comes out and says, "Eww stinky poopy," then proceeds to take her diaper off as fast as she can. At this point I am leaping through the air trying to get there before the doo hits the floor and as I am mid-air with arms stretched out, there it goes, to the ground the diaper falls! I was two inches shy of landing in it as well. Does your child do this? If so i would love to know, I feel like she purposely loves to see me fly through the air and land in her diapers. Because when I am done she looks at me softly and says, "is that funny momma?"

The connection: Even though she loves to embarrass me in the lady's room, and make me leap through the air like Jerry Rice would do to catch a diving pass, I can't help but love her even more for these things. Imagining my life without her is like imagining no life at all. She is the air I breath and light of my day. When she holds my brushes the hair from MY eyes and holds MY face and says, "oh my momma," that makes anything and everything (including sleep deprivation) worth it. Does your shild do this to your heart?
